World Environment Day 2022

The Environment: World Environment Day 2022

The environment has been in the news quite often as of late, and it’s not hard to see why! Natural disasters are on the rise, and air pollution and carbon emissions seem to be getting worse with each passing year. For many people, a large part of their day-to-day lives are impacted by environmental factors that are increasingly out of our control. These environmental changes will affect your business in ways you probably don’t even realize yet! Fortunately, there are plenty of ways that your business can make an impact on the environment starting today!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Reducing waste is one of Earth Day’s three Rs, and while it can seem a bit easy to opt out of paper or plastic these days, there are other ways to lessen your environmental impact. Recycling, reusing household items you already have, and finding non-toxic alternatives for products we all use regularly—these all make a difference. For example, you could recycle every plastic bottle that crosses your path or buy food in bulk rather than in individual servings.

Pay attention to your plastic usage

If you want to know about how World Environment Day is celebrating Earth day, then you need to consider where your plastic is coming from. It may be made from some very unexpected things! You’ll be surprised by how much plastic you actually use in your daily life. If possible, avoid buying products that contain a lot of plastic, and try to re-use containers for as long as possible instead of throwing them away.

Plant more trees

Trees are essential for our planet and its inhabitants. Planting trees is a simple way to offset climate change, pollution, and more. If you want to make a difference—and have some fun in your own backyard—plant a tree today! Even better? Do it on Earth Day (or whichever day they’re celebrating around where you live)! But don’t just leave your tree there after planting; make sure you care for it properly!

Help End Pollution

According to a study conducted by Greenpeace, there are 1.7 million deaths every year that are attributed to pollution. If we can reduce air pollution by using renewable energy, such as solar panels and wind turbines, we can breathe cleaner air and prevent unnecessary deaths. Join us in celebrating World Environment Day 2022 as we work together to help solve problems facing our natural environment for generations to come!

Vote For Climate Change Legislation

After ten years of stalling, political leaders on both sides of aisle in Washington are showing renewed interest in climate change legislation. Before 2016’s elections, environmental policy was held up by a partisan divide—with Democrats passing a bill to cut carbon emissions while Republicans blocked it. But now, with members from both parties signaling their willingness to work together and some mid-term victories under their belts, Senators have introduced a new bill that would put America on track for an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Support Environmental Organizations

You can do everything you can to lessen your own personal impact on our planet, but unless you also support organizations that actively help and promote environmentalism, you’re only doing half of what is necessary. Be sure to donate, participate in fundraisers and volunteer opportunities to give back to environmental charities and initiatives. Our planet is worth it!
